Charitable Remainder Trusts
Your Planning Need
You want income for life or a term of years for yourself, spouse, or other beneficiary.
Our Gift Solution
The Charitable Remainder Unitrust (CRUT) pays out a fixed percentage of trust assets, resulting in variable quarterly payments, depending on the total value of trust assets, to you, your spouse or chosen beneficiary for life or a term of up to 20 years. Alternatively, the Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT) generates fixed quarterly income. Another option, if you do not need additional income now, but want to have more in your later years – and want the income tax deduction now- you may wish to create a Deferred Charitable Remainder Trust. One of the most important benefits of all charitable remainder trusts is that they can be customized to meet your specific financial, tax and estate planning needs.
Benefits:
- Increase income now and receive immediate income tax deduction, even with a deferred trust
- Avoid capital gains tax on the assets used to fund the trust
Remainder Trust Features:
- Fixed dollar or fixed percentage payout
- Payments begin immediately, unless you choose to defer
- Can benefit multiple beneficiaries
- Generally, a trust is established with assets of $250,000 or more.
- If you can not remember the name, just call them CRUT’S and CRAT’S
- Show me an example: CRUT, CRAT
